Hello, I am a bookworm. I have been for as long as I can remember. I grew up loving books, all kinds of books. I can even remember some of my favorite's. The Hobbit, The Indian in the Cupboard, and the Dagger of Death (typical boy stuff). Then in adolescence I discovered Dune and became obsessed with science fiction. But something happened in college. I became a Christian. I was redeemed from my old way of life. Redemption means to buy back, I was bought back by God from slavery to sin, judgment for my sin, and from an eternity to Hell, and now I belong to Him. And the One who bought me says that the greatest commandment is to love Him with heart, soul, and mind.
How do we love God with our minds. It means alot of things, but clearly this includes our reading habits. I discovered that my status as a Bookworm didn't need to change but the content and purpose of reading had to change. My reading had to be redeemed too. Since our minds matter to God, I started reading a lot of Christian books, but its not that simple, we have to learn to read all books as Christians.
So thats what this blog is going to be all about, sharing my continuing journey of learning to love God with my mind through reading. So I will be writing about the books I'm reading, making recommendations, sharing quotes, and giving links to articles that have helped me as a Redeemed Bookworm. So welcome to the journey.
Also I would love to hear about what you're reading, I want to know what's knocking your socks off. I rarely discover new authors on my own, so please show me some new paths to tread.
